Mistella stared into the mirror for at least ten minutes, pondering over the thought of a human joining the school. True, it wasn’t unheard of, but, it was rare. She planned on meeting this human, this Annabell. Mistella picked up her brush, going through her blue pigtails with it; the same concern as always went through her head. Stargate. She was sure to meet one of them soon, probably the youngest, Leo. Every ounce of her hated them, all of them, there was no good in the star spirits. They saw the dragons the same way, they were just born to be enemies.
She sat down, not wanting to think any more of the Stargates, it made her blood boil. Maybe it was time to go out to town, after all, she had to buy books for school. With any luck, she still had time to meet up with Shinimoto; that would make her life so much easier, the reaper was good at keeping others calm.
With that thought, she grabbed her purse and set out to town; she would need school supplies and a new uniform. She met with her friend, who scared her to death. It was hard not to be spooked when the first thing you see walking out the door is glowing red eyes.
“You’re going to town, are you?” Shinimoto asked, her visible eye reflecting a monotone expression.
“I would like to,” Mistella replied, sighing.
“Then you must promise not to get into any duels to the death today” Mistella sighed at this, Shinimoto worried too much. That’s all she seemed to do, worry.
“I won’t get into any duels, I’m just going shopping” she didn’t plan on getting into a fight at least. It might happen, but, Shinimoto didn’t have to know that.
“I will go with you then” the older girl said, making it clear that nothing was going to happen on her watch.
The two girls walked to town, chatting and discussing what classes they thought they were getting amongst other things. They spent the next couple of hours shopping for school, and in Mistella’s case, for other things as well (Much to Shinimoto’s annoyance). She loved to collect plush toys and trinkets, which her friend saw as useless junk. That went on for long enough before they ran into a familiar face. Leo Stargate, Mistella felt her blood rushing and her face getting hot. She hated that boy with every fiber of her being. No, she didn’t just hate him, she hated ALL of the Stargate Family!
“Oh, it’s the fish” he said in an I-hate-my-life type of voice.
“Hello, little kitty” Mistella replied mockingly, choosing to ignore the confused human girl. She was going to say something witty, obnoxious, sarcastic, SOMETHING, but, Shinimoto shot both of them a glare.
“If you two start fighting again then I will take BOTH of your life threads and cut them!” she said with a raised voice. Both Mistella and Leo backed down.
“Yes ma’am” they replied in unison.
“Now, if you two are done acting like the Capulets and the Montagues, I would like to put my attention towards more important matters” Shinimoto’s tone was calm and cool as she looked at Annabell, “Might you be Annabell Vallery?”
“U-um” Anna stuttered, “Yeah, that would be me” she trailed off, seeming a little shocked.
“Well Miss Vallery, it is a pleasure to meet you,” the reaper said with a smile, “I am Shinimoto Kurohana, and this is Mistella-Gods why do they always do this!?” she stopped when she noticed that Mistella and Leo were arguing.
“Well, maybe the dragons wouldn’t be so badly hunted if you weren’t so annoying” Leo snapped, resulting in Mistella baring her fangs.
“That is what you would call a ‘stereotype’ but, of course YOU wouldn’t get it, stars are nothing but a bunch of burning gas, just like your brain!” Mistella shot back, then they both stopped, crushed under the gaze of a frustrated grim reaper.
“You two will stop fighting NOW” Shinimoto’s tone was deadly, almost like a sword (or a scythe) was going to stab anybody who tried to disobey her.
“Sorry Shinimoto” Mistella said in a quiet voice, Leo didn’t seem to be willing to let it go though. It was evident that the lion wasn’t about to swallow his pride.
“Oh dear, the Stargates the Mires have never liked each other, huh, Shinimoto?” Ebony squeaked, sounding more shrill and scared than hyper and chipper now.
“There may have been a time very long ago” Shinimoto replied coolly, “even so, that doesn’t change the fact that they’re bickering like children for no real reason now”
“These two are sworn enemies because it’s in their blood” Ebony said to Anna.
“Maybe I can fix that,” Anna replied distantly, “After all, bloodlines are a silly reason to fight”
