Less and less raindrops fell until no more came. Me and Leah walk back to her house from our stroll, soaking wet. It is fairly late, if she isn’t home soon her sponsors will scold her again.
I always wonder what her living space is like. I’ve seen one small room a long time ago but we cheated for even that much. Her sponsors won’t let me inside. I can understand why. Nobody knows anything about where I came from, not even me. Lean is more than kind enough to sneak me food and clothes though, I have nothing to complain about.
Of course I stand out in any crowd with my current outfit though. See, the only ones she was able to get to me were the clothes nobody else wanted, thus those they wouldn’t notice were missing. I have a pair of thigh high boots, which are the one normal thing I am wearing. Most humans wear these, especially leather ones. They are very warm and popular. However normally pants are worn with them, human females tend to wear the pants under the boots and males do so over the boots. Instead of pants I have a short, red skirt. I don’t hate it. It’s just not very warm. All the skirt does is cover my private areas. I’ve never actually worn pants before. They are far too expensive. As for my shirt I have a pink tank-top, which is essentially the same as the skirt. Normally humans wear thick long sleeve shirts or sweaters. The clothes I have are cheap and unwanted.
Leah has a fairly cheap outfit too. She is wearing a thick, long black dress with black, cloth slippers. Her outfit is quite a bit more common than mine, however not the best for the weather.
In a couple minutes we are at Leah’s living space, we didn’t talk for most of the end of the walk. “See you, Rena.” She gives me a sweet smile as she waves her hand.
“See you.” I say and look around. “It won’t be hard for me to find a place to sleep since it stopped raining.” I think out loud.
Leah sighs in relief. “That is good.” She says. “I had better get inside, before my sponsors are angry with me.”
“Okay, see you then.” I say as she walks into her living space and closes the outside door. Now I have to find a decent place to sleep.
I hear a slight nose from not far off and jump. Looking around I can’t see anything. I try to loosen up my muscles. It was nothing. Then I turn around and gasp as my eyes peel wide. There is a vampire beside a tree in the yard area of the living space. There is no mistake of that, her long silver hair and glowing red eyes hide nothing.
“Hybrid.” She sneers. “We need to have a little talk.”
